Trip: Group Trekking - 4 hour Peggy's Cove Coastal Barrens

Peggy's Cove was originally settled in 1811 by six families. Today its year-round population numbers around sixty, but its numbers climb dramatically during the warm summer days....

Nestled on the rocky shoreline of St. Margaret's Bay, the area offers spectacular, world-famous scenery.

Come explore Devonian granite rock formations: These huge 350 to 415 million-year-old boulders were scattered by retreating glaciers about 10,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age. Almost surreal, they appear to be growing out of the fields of moss and shrubs, and offer breath taking views of the coastal waterways, islands and marine wildlife sightings.

View Rock Sculptors:
William E. DeGarthe: Marine artist DeGarthe sculpted a 100-foot granite monument depicting thirty-two fishermen, their wives and children on an outcropping behind his summer house. Visit this and two murals located in the Anglican Church while at Peggy's Cove.

Fabulous scenery, gift shops and the ocean make this a one-of-a-kind tour.

Sea Sun offers 3.5 hour Trekking Adventures for various groups, be they school groups, corporate groups family get togethers or cruise ship passengers.

After each hike, enjoy oceanside mussel bakes, or lobster boils and lunches while our interpretive guides reveal the history, nature and culture of this amazing (and world famous)coastal area.

Note: We also offer catered meal packages back at our modern facilities at tours' end. Just ask!
